Day 5 in Los Angeles - The Getty Center (31 July 2009)

Image
Finally, it was our last day in Los Angeles and it was also my last day together with SL, I was sad with another seperation but I should be happy that I can stay a day longer as we planned. At the morning, we checked out from our Super 8 Motel and headed to LAX airport, our flights were night flight but we planned to left our luggages in some storage service in airport, which I assumed there should be one. After checked out, we bought a day trip Metro ticket, this assured us for unlimited travel with Metro transportation, there we need to take three lines (from Hollywood/Western to 7th Street, 7th Street to Imperial/Wilmington, then Imperial/Wilmington to Aviation/LAX) and a shuttle from Hollywood to LAX Airport. While I was travelling in Europe, it was normal to find some locker area in airport (especially international airport), this provides convenience to night flight tourists to store their luggages, so that tourists can have a short day trip before their scheduled flight. Well, w

A Lonely Long Weekend

Due to Independence Day, it is a holiday on Monday in Malaysia, therefore a lot of people are going back to their hometown at this long weekend, include my housemate, this leaves me alone in my house for the long weekend. When you spend you time alone longer in a house, you would feel more lonely, this is true and I feel especially lonely over this weekend, then I started blaming myself on choosing not to follow SL to US together. Well, this is a repeatative process when I feel loneliness, it would go after my emotion pass. Anyways, I don't really want to spend whole of my holidays just staying in home, so that I went for a short outing on Sunday, for movie, dining and shopping. I haven't watched a movie in Malaysia for at least two months, until I forgot that I actually need to retrieve my online reservation ticket at 45 minutes before show, then I just went to reservation counter to collect my ticket on 2:30pm and it was gone of course. Never mind then, I just bought the GI J

SF's birthday celebration

This Monday 24th of August, our gang (YY, LE, LP, MS, SF and I) and MS's husband (Vic) were getting together to celebrate SF's birthday, the actual date should be 19th of August but we delay until this Monday because of our birthday girl is too busy on her job, she is actually always busy like that :P After discussed with SF, we decided to have this celebration in "Teow Chew Meng" in Sunway Tunas, which others are consider their price is expensive but I personally think it is worth due to their taste and ingredient. Before this, I went to Queensbay to buy for some small cakes, and I bought a book in the meanwhile, "The memory keeper's daughter" which is recomended by LE, I am looking for good story book recently, so that I could bring them to US at my next visit to kill my time there. It was traffic jam at Bayan Lepas area on Monday, therefore everyone is trapped in car queue while I am the first arriver, then LE, SF, LP, MS (with Vic) and YY are followi

Memorial to my uncle

Again, this is a month full with lot of bad news, I still remembered that I heard a lot of bad news on my friends' relative's news during month of seventh in Lunar calendar. I couldn't recalled about number, but I know it is more than three of past away news at the same month in last year. It is month of seventh again this year, and the first sad news is from my uncle, I was stunned when I first knew the news, it was through an offline messanger from my sister. I was kind of busy last few days, therefore I didn't sign in to my messanger until this morning, but the first messanger that I saw this morning is from my sister, I think it was sent to me few days ago while I was still offline. In messanger, she told me that my uncle, who is my mother's eldest brother was past away and my family decided to keep this secret from my grandmother, then my mother and my sister is going to Singapore for his funeral. Somehow, I felt really sad with the news, this is the first deat
Previously, I was really in dark and like getting lost, I was really unhappy for long time due to seperation. But now, I know what I should do now, I started reading, keep reading, I know I need to fill up, this is for SL and for myself. Reading, reading and reading, I want to know as much as thing I can.

Day 4 in Los Angeles - Universal Studio (30 July 2009)

Image
This morning, we called to Cathay Pacific helpline again on my flight ticket modification and we got a good news that is an available seat for the next day, this means that SL and I could have one more day together. Suddenly, we were feeling happy and my mood wasn't as down as the day before, this good news really changed our emotion although we only earned one more day, it is good enough for us. After breakfast, we headed to Universal Studio immediately, we nearly got lost at first because they didn't provide a clear direction, but we finally still successfully got to destination after some climbing up to a small hill. Well, we actually could take a shuttle to the Studio, but I just wanted to enjoy my walking time with SL alone, we didn't have much day to walk together then. I were arrived to Universal Studio at 8am, which is its opening time, we were so lucky that we walked up, so that we could avoid some cword at the entrance. Of course, I took the Studio's map and s

Day 3 in Los Angeles - Hollywood and LA Downtown (29 Jul 2009)

Image
Finally, we have to say goodbye to Anaheim Disneyland area and directed to LA/Hollywood area on 29 July 2009, I actually like Anaheim a lot because there is really a quiet and beutiful town, their building are special and beautiful, where I just felt like I was in fairly tale. Well, we couldn't live in fairly tale forever and needed to back to reality in one day, and I took a final snapshot for Anaheim in dawn, don't you think it is beautiful? How do we get to LA? There we needed to get a bus from our hotel to Anaheim train station, then we took a train from Anaheim Metrolink station to Union Station in LA town, later we needed to transit to Metro red line to Hollywood/Western station, there is our hotel nearby. Our hotel is Super 8 Motel, it is just a few minutes walk from Hollywood/Western metro station and it is close to Hollywood happening area, it is just between Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, which are two happening streets in Hollywood area. Actually, we were

cooking class

Image
This Wednesday, I got a special cooking class at "Ci Ji" in Georgetown, this actually is a chance from LE because she told me about this, then I just ended up with joining she and her friend, Ms Leong to the class. Last time, I also told YY that I am more interested on taking some cooking classes, haha... I think my wish comes true right now. I didn't like cooking when I was young because I think it was dirty job as we always would get ourselves dirty and oily, but I like to cook for the person who I love, therefore I start enjoyed cooking after knowing and getting married with SL. However, I know that my cooking skill is so poor, that I need to learn more :) Perhaps, I can be a chef in one day :P LE and Ms Leong were coming to my company at 5:30pm to pick me up for dinner, then to the class, we went to Ms Saigon, a Veitnamese restaurant for dinner, this was my first time to this restaurant. Before that, I thought Veitnamese cuision was spicy foods, so that I never consid

Day 2 in Los Angeles - Disneyland Park (28 July 2009)

Image
We didn't wake up too early at this day because Disneyland Park is just near to our motel, it was convenient to us that we could walk there within 15 minutes. We arrived to Disneyland Park at 8:30am and we just immediately started our journey, there were so many people walked into Disneyland Park direction, I couldn't believe with the crowd as it was Tuesday, that I never expected so many people would be travelling on the day. After we got into the Disneyland Park, we immediately research on the map and special event schedule to make sure we could enjoy everything in the Park. Disneyland Park opens with five lands in it, which are Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. After seeing the map, I felt lucky that we just bought ticket for a park because Disneyland Park is big enough for a full day trip, I was even worried if we could go through all attractions with this kind of crowd. At first, we went to Adventureland and lined up for Indiana Jones
