Deepavali Eve Trip
This week, we got a day off on Monday, it is Malaysia Deepavali public holiday, SL and I planned to spend a day to play at some place near to Penang. Finally, we decided to go to Bukit Merah Waterpark and Taiping’s night safari.
At the morning of Sunday, we woke up early and went for breakfast near to our house, and we drove directly to Bukit Merah after breakfast. However, it was out of our plan that is most attractions in water park are closed, the only three attractions opened are the wave pool, normal pool and kid pool, but they sold ticket with lower price and a free entrance ticket valid for half year for us.
Without any choice, we kept going with our plan and bought the entrance ticket, and we paid additional price for chairlift and skycycle.
At first, we went for chairlift, it is like a cable car to fetch us from a point to another point, where we could view the overall of water park from top, we were able to drop at the half way and continue the return trip later, so that we left the chairlift and went for skycycle.
The skycycle is a railed car which automated by man power with hand. Sitting at the car, we were able to see the view of ecopark from top and we saw some animals and birds from our point of view. Due to the railway is curve form, I was in fear while the car was taking turn because I was feeling inbalance on the car.
After lifted from skycycle, we walked around the venure and continue our return trip for chairlift. It was hot at the return trip, I was feeling torture while sitting on the chairlift, fortunately this trip is short and we able to lifted soon.
After that, we proceeded to the water park, I was happy in the park although most of attractions were closed, but SL and I able to spend time playing and have fun together is the most happy thing than others. I felt that we were happier than before we get married, I could feel SL’s love me more than before married.
We left the water park at lunch time and took our lunch in Bukit Merah, then we went to our next station, Taiping, but this is earlier than our plan. Before left to Taiping, we were able to grab a leaflet about Perak Tourism from Bukit Merah.
We only took less than half an hour to arrive Taiping, this is too early than what we plan, so that we decided to visit Maxwell Hill. When we arrived to the ticket counter, we just found that ticket for transportation to the hill was sold out, we were feeling so unlucky that we couldn’t visit the Hill.
Then, we transferred to Perak Museum, at the entrance of museum, the notice told us that all exhibition halls are closed except one (what was our good lucky? All places we went are almost closed and unavailable?). Well, we only spent 15 minutes at the only-open hall and the hall didn’t equip with air-con, we really felt hot after walking there for a while.
After went out from museum, we still have a lot of time before we could proceed to Taiping Lake Garden and night safari, therefore we drove to Taiping town and hope to find some confectionary shop. Bad news as we couldn’t find any shop that we could buy Taiping local food.
Finally, we were out of choice and spent the rest of our time in “The Store” and “Popular Bookstore”, this really is the funniest trip :) Well, I still felt lucky because I found a toy, that I hope to have from my childhood.
We left popular bookstore at five o’clock and proceeded to Taiping Lake Garden, I forgot tiredness of the trip when we were in the garden, it is really a beautiful place (by ignoring the nearly dying lotus flower), and the garden is really big with the lake.
We were walking for a long way to find the recreation centre to sign up for a boat cycling to the lake. Cycling with the boat, we totally enjoying with it, the wind was blowing to us, we felt relaxing when we were on the lake, and this was a good experience. After left the boatcycle, we went for dinner at a hawker centre.
We left to night safari at 7:30pm, there were a lot of people waiting for ticket counter opens, I found that were a lot people like to cut queue. And ticketing system is really strange, where we couldn’t buy for train ticket in the main entrance, this mean we need to line up twice if we want to board to train.
Anyways, we were still able to see a lot of animals in night safari, it is worth to visit and worth to wait for the whole boring afternoon. We left Taiping at 10 o’clock.
In conclusion, we still consider enjoy our day out on Deepavali Eve, by ignoring some bad impression at ticketing counter in night safari.
