Seattle April-27-2010
Again, we visited to Seattle this spring at April-27 this year. Though it's still the sam city, Seattle, we had some different route for this time as some places suggested by BM.
On the day, we departed from house at very early morning and headed to Ballard first as there is some special process to observe at Hiram Chittenden Locks. Hiram Chittenden Locks is a special dock, which has different sead level between dock and sea, therefore it needs a lock to lock and control the sea level then ship or boat can depart there to sea. Truely, I found it was really interesting when I saw the "tank" of Hiram Chittenden Locks got emptied and refilled of water during departure and arrival of ships and boats, or even canol.
Beside the Locks, Ballard also has salmon ladder but it still was not the season yet, therefore I couldn't see salmon return to spawn, I wishes that I can revisit there again with SL during season :P Also, Ballard has a beautiful and big garden where we really enjoyed a lot while walking inside the garden.
We left Ballard at lunch time, then we headed to Seattle town for lunch, we decided to have our lunch at a Korea restaurant, Kimchi Bistro as we read some good reviews about the restaurant online, someone said it is the best Korean food in Seattle. Well, as we had taken some better Korean food in Beaverton, therefore we don't really agree much on those reviews after we took our lunch in Kimchi Bistro. Except their pancake, I would say their dishes are just right and price is a little higher than our expectation, their toufu soup is smaller than we thought as well. Anyways, perhaps living cost in Seattle is higher than Portland, which made us prefer where we are now :D
After lunch, then we travelled around Seattle city center as we did in last year with my parents-in-law, Space Needle, Pike Place Market, SAM (and the big man was working that day, he kept hammering whice I couldn't see it in last year :D), of course the first ever Starbucks Store in the world, there I spent the gift card that I got in WEGE to buy a trumbler with the first Starbucks logo printed, which is different with current logo ^.^
In evening, when time to return, we just went to a beach where can oversea Seattle building standing firm at the other side of sea, which we missed last year and I kept thinking to visit there in one day, then finally we did it and took a lot of pictures :)
