Vancouver - Down Town

We decided only spent a night stayed in Vancouver as we got some comments from friends that the Island is more interesting than mainland itself.

For visiting in Vancouver downtown, we just accessed to everywhere by foot because all attractions there were quite close to each others.

In the downtown, there is a public library with special architecture like a coleseum of Rome, it was huge and beautiful and we were stopped by for some view seeing. Besides, you could find a steam clock at Gastown, which is operated by steam and I just couldn't imagine how can it works that accurately. When I stood beside it, I just felt it like a heater and kept myself warm. The clock would whistle every 4.5 minutes though at a short moment, it was still quite interesting.

Of course, we didn't miss to take some photo of Gassy Jack's statue, he is the pioneer of Gastown and the town is named after him. When walking along the waterfront area, then we could see Canada Place just right sitting over there, which was the most beautiful scence that I could find during my downtown tour.

Before the journey, we look for some free attraction in Vancouver and we found Dr. Sun Yat San Garden, which is really a beautiful garden when we looked from the gate, we were regret that we reached there too late and it was closed. The statue of Sun Yat San just stands outside the garden without any shelter from sun and rain, just like a great man as he was under the sun.

Well, the Chinatown of Vancouver just made me felt it is bigger than Portland's, with a huge gate cross over the street, it's named as "Door of Millineum", also there is another gate near to Dr. Sun Yat San Garden which is "Door of Chinese" and I found it is more interesting to me because they are with some pictures telling a legend in China about sun and moon, now I just found some coincident with that couple in story because they are one related to sun and another related to moon.

Fairmont Hotel should be the greatest hotel in Vancouver, with such a grant architecture and reflected it just at the glass building in frount of itself. Of course, we wouldn't miss to take a walk inside the Hotel. And, we sound the last quater of game between Germany and Argentina in World Cup 2010, Germany just played it fabulous and defeated Argentina at 4-0.

Well, I think the Vancouver down town has some attractions for tourism, just I sometime would find it is shadow combination of Seattle, Portland and Hong Kong, the town refreshed a lot of memories from our past journeys.
