Unfortunately
Haha...Unfortunately, I am still in Malaysia, I think I will be here until next Thursday, I think it was an interesting experience to me yesterday, well... I am not abled to exit from Malaysia imigration yesterday, becuase I am a blacklisted person :P Yes, it is true, I am BLACKLISTED, haha... this is my first ever experience, kind of special.
I checked in my luggage yesterday to Cathay Pacific Airlines and waiting for my flight outside of imigration, then there was a lot of people proceeded to imigration counter, including me, I just felt it as normal. However, there was too many people in line, so that I tried to use the Auto Gate, but I thought it was with problem as I couldn't proceed it after two trial.
Then, I just went through the manual immigration counter. After long waiting, I just got to the counter, but the staff told me that I had been blacklisted after checking with my passport, then he said that I am not allowed to exit Malaysia, this was confused me.
Later, he just past my passport to onather female staff for checking, then she told me that was because I got a PTPTN loan didn't clear, therefore I had been blacklisted and forfeited from exit Malaysia. This recalled me on something as I took a half loan from PTPTN at my third and fourth year in university, but I heard from news said that was waived for those took half loan, and I also checked with PTPTN's website four years ago on my loan status as I was thinking to return it after I backed from the UK, but the search result showed me without any record on my detail. After "NO RECORD" show, then I was pretty sure this was really waived for it, but I just didn't know it is not waived actually.
All after all, I didn't recieved any letter or instruction on how to pay my instalment, then I just really assumed it was really been waived :P
After I had been rejected from immigration, then I just proceeded to Cathay Pacific counter to enquire my luggage return and ticket change detail, and they told me that I needed to change my flying time with my travel agent and they would get my luggage back from the check in point.
Then, I was just waiting for my luggage inside the airport and started thinking on solution for it, according to immigration I need to go to somewhere in Putrajaya there to settle this, then I planned to go there immediately to settle, so that I could meet with SL as soon as possible. At the meanwhile, I tried to call SL on this surprise, but he wasn't on his phone, then I just left a short SMS to him.
After I got my luggage, I just took a taxi from airport immediately to my home and online to have a short chat with SL to explain the situation, then BM past me a helpline of PTPTN and I called them to confirmed, thanks for information from BM. From the phone, I knew this can be settled fast with personal there, else it would take up to seven working days to clear the name. Then, I just asked me about my rough amount for return, they said that I need to have full payment to clear the name, I thought all my saving was almost enough for the amount, but I asked SL to transfer another 3k for playing safe.
According to helpline counter, I needed to ge to KL Sentral - One Stop Center to settle this, instead of Putrajaya from immigration staff. Then I just decided to trust the helpline as she is more professional.
After all enquiry, I just left my laptop and directed to KL immediately, but I went to HSBC bank at first as I wanted to transfer my money from HSBC to my Maybank account, to ensure I had all my money at the same place, this would be much easy if I needed to find a HSBC in KL, as I didn't really know KL's street. However, the bank was closed until 9:30am to open, it would be an hour wasted there, then I just called to HSBC helpline and requested them terminated all my fix deposit to my saving account, this would easier for me to withdraw them in KL.
It was about 8:30am after all this done, then I just immediately drove to KL and planning for what I wanted to do in KL. I planned to parked my car somewhere around KL Centre, so that I could get all type of banks there, including HSBC and Maybank, so that I could settle this through bank first, then just took a taxi to KL Sentral to settle the rest with PTPTN office.
However, I recieved a message from SL that I could ask for help from his friend (Ah Say) in KL, so that I would not be so helpless. At first, I was thinking that SL worried too much as I thought I could settle this alone by myself through my "plan". But, I was touched as SL was worried so much about me, I suddenly felt that I am such a well-fortune girl for having such a good husband always take care and love me (Thanks SL), then I just told myself that I could never let him leave me and I want to love with him forever, I also decided want to be the perfect wife for him.
After some moment, I recieved a call from Ah Say and he offered me help, then I just thought this might be better if a person from KL could lead me, else it would be really difficult for me to do treasure hunt in KL alone. Then, we just decided to meet at a place and Ah Say would bring me to all the place I needed to go, I really need to say a big thanks to Ah Say and my husband is so lucky to have a friend like him, as he really is willing to help with selfless and kept encouraging me with a lot of good words to cheer me up.
After finally discussion with Ah Say, we decided to withdraw money from HSBC and Maybank and pay cash at PTPTN, this is because we worried if they need to have clearing days for other payment and cash is the fastest settlement on our mind. At this point, I really found lucky to have a person helps me as it would be really dangerous for a girl to carry this huge amount of cash :) Finally, I am safe at home now.
At first, we went to Wisma Chase Perdana as there was a PTPTN office, but we went to wrong place, because they opened a new branch at KL Sentral as told in PTPTN helpline, where is a multifunction office. Fortunately, it doesn't take us too much time from Wisma Chase Perdane to KL Sentral and we were there at 3:30pm.
Then, the officer (Siti) just explained us on my status, that they need to confirm with lawyer if any legal fee charge on my case, so that they only could tell me my exact amount, there will be an extra 8% charge for legal fee if my case goes to court, else I just only needed to pay for loan plus interest amount.
However, we took about 1.5 hours to wait for lawyer replied, there was no result until 5pm, then Siti told me that she would follow up on Monday and let me know about lawyer result, she is really a helpful officer. So that, I requested to clear the number first without extra legal fee on top, because I felt dangerous to carry so huge amount of cash by my side. Finally, I had the case half settled for Friday, and I need to call Siti on Monday for latest update, thanks Ah Say for being alert and got Siti's extention number for me as I nearly forgot about this.
At last, Ah Say sent me back to my car location and taught me how to get to correct highway, then I just backed to Penang on 10pm and had long chatting with SL about my today experience.
Well... it was embarassed that I was blacklisted :P, but I think this is a special experience as I got another story on my lifebook :) What I am curios was, I did check on immigration website if I was blacklisted by them and I was clean then, but this was another story when I was there yesterday. Haha... I think I will be famous in my company soon with this embarassing chapter on my immigration experience :P
Anyways, I think I am still consider lucky with some points for my yesterday adventure. First, it was luckily that was a morning flight so that I could take some action immediately and had the case almost settled within one day. Second, I was lucky with SL's good friend (Ah Say) who is a good guidance to me and helped me a lot on this case, I would like to thank him with full hearted. Third, it was fortunately a half loan, so that I won't be too difficult to gather my resourse, I couldn't imagine what would happen with a full loan, that would be really troublesome. And finally, I am really well fortune to have a good husband, his family and he are really supported me a lot all the way, I kept recieving SMS from SL and my father-in-law, they always be there supported me and worried about me. When I just returned to Penang and chatted with SL through webcam, I saw he was so weak there and kept crying by weeping his tear with his hankerchief. Sometime, I know he is overworry about me, but I felt kind of happy to have him for caring me so much :D
In conclusion, the romour about "PTPTN half loan waived" is a fake news, I think many people would need to make sure that they are really safe from this, so that they only can travel oversea without any barrier :)

may i know if u need to settle the whole amount of your loan or only the lum sum of the one you owe when you get barred ?
it doesnt make sense if i owe 90k and supposely have to pay 20k at this stage will be forced to pay the whole amount (90K) to get unbarred.
cheers
that day was saturday and i was stopped by the immigration because of my ptptn loan. i was surprised! if i received the notice earlier, i would have settle the payment. so far i didn't rcv any blacklist warnings from their side.furthermore, saturday the office was closed. it was too late to know.
i was really disappointed as i couldn't convince the officers. my flight to krabi and the hotel booking which has paid in full gone just like that.. that was a nice hotel too good to be wasted...i couldn't imagine your US flight as they were too much to bear. i'm sorry to hear your loss but feel comfort you made through it and learn your husband truly love you after this incident. ;)
i went to ptptn today and settle my loan. on the way return, i felt why would the country i called home would be so mean. i think this is a sensitive issue to be discuss here but deep in my heart. i learned. :)
wish you and your lover all the best.
cheers
