Day 1 to Hong Kong (15/3/2008 Departure, Lantau Island)

15th of March, our day 1 to Hong Kong, most of our time is in the plane, from Penang to Hong Kong, we took a transit at Singapore, and arrived Hong Kong at around 5:15pm.
After the imigration check point and waiting for our luggages, it was about 6:00pm for everything done.

From 6:00pm, we need to take bus to Tung Chung, and get the Cable Car from there to Ngong Peng, everything need to be done before 6:30pm, because this is the last service of cable car, and no bus is going to Ngong Peng after 6:00pm. If we couldn’t get the cable car, then we need to call taxis for the trip, this would cost us a lot of money.

At first, we thought we would missed the last service of cable car, fortunately we got it, even at the last minute, we were surprised with our good luck.

Journey from Tung Chung to Ngong Peng took us about 20 minutes, funny thing is, we were the only passangers on the way to Ngong Peng, many people at cable car station are surprised we were still going to Ngong Peng at dark.

When we arrived to Ngong Peng, it was dark, and really quiet in the town, nobody there, we found that this town is only for tourism and close to nature, and all shops are closed after 6pm and people are going back. In fact, that is no much people staying at Ngong Peng, I was worried if I really can find a hostel here.

Anyways, we still abled to find our hostel after long walk from the town, and we found that is some problem with our booking, while our online booking agent didn’t send our detail to this hostel. Luckily, this hostel was not fully book, so that we still can have a bed for our night, else we wouldn’t know where should we spent our night in this countryside area.

At night, we disscussed our Hong Kong trip planning for the rest of week.

I am kind of happy, because from now I won’t travel alone like what I did for most of my Europe trips, because he is always with me.
