Day 4 in Macau (18/3/2008 Macau)

This is a tired day for us, we spent around half of day in Macau, still able to see a lot of places, it is tired, but we really had fun there :)

We woke up in the early morning to prepare our full day trip in Macau, we went to Star Harbour at first (because it was near to our hotel) to see if we could get a ferry to Macau, however we didn't really know where ticket counter at and how could we buy ticket for the trip, therefore we decided not to waste our time on this kind of searching. Then, we took MTR to Victoria Harbour, this is the place for Hong Kong-Macau ferry connection. Well... we found that actually we really could get the ferry from Star Harbour, just we were not about to find the place at later time.

When we first arrived to Macau, we took a bus to Macau City Centre and went to Lisbon Hotel at the first time, this is the first ever hotel in Macau (according to SL), but we didn't go to any casino because of our custome (well... we didn't plan to casino neither). The Lisbon Hotel (it is combined with Casino Lisbon) is a huge and arogant hotel, there is a lot of great decoration in their hall and lounge, some of them even made with gold and some of them are historical antiques.

Before went out from harbour, we were able to grap some map and Macau tourist information from Macau tourism counter, SL is a good navigator all the day, he is the person did lot of our route planning and direction guide, he was also so serious while he was looking for the right direction to our spot place.

While he was reading the map for direction searching, I was free and taking pictures and vidoe, I suddenly felt that I am so blessed because I had him to accompany me for every trip and I don't need to worry on route planning anymore, as I was the person did all the travel planning during my time in Europe, but I think it was fun to travel alone. With him, my journey would be more joy and laugh :)

The video is about what I took in front of Lisbon Hotel.

After that, we moved forward to "Da Shan Ba", and we were bypassing a square and took some pictures there because we saw there was so beautiful and with its historical building, we found Macau actually was formed by a lot of historical building.

Also, we were abled to find the famous biscuit shop of Macau and we bought a lot of cookies and candy, which we planned to distribute them for our friends and teammates, it should be quite meaningful for them, I think. However, I think that we bought them too early because we still got a long day to walk, this would slow down our speed. Anyways, we were also afraid if we would back to the same place later, so that would be better to buy them first.

Before we came to Hong Kong, that was a friend told SL a famous food street in Macau, we could get a lot of delicious foods there, but we tried hard to search the street's name in map, we still were not abled alocate it. I was quite dissapointed on mission failed, SL thought I really liked to eat there and sturbornly wanted to find for me. Well... it was ok for me, it's good if we could find the place, but it didn't matter if we couldn't find.

From here, I found SL actually is a sensitive person, he is always willing to sacrify himself to fulfil what I hope for, but he never further think if I am really wanting it. Well... he is good, but this will make his life too tired. Therefore, I think I should put more care on him, take care of his feeling and thinking. After backed to hotel in Hong Kong, we were doing more reading on Macau's map, and we finally found the location of that food street, it is at the other side of Macau, south of our visit location, which would take us a few hours to go there. Haha... we just knew that we found something from nothing.

Portugese egg tart is a must eat in Macau, and we had one each, it was really delicious, and SL especially likes egg tart and he was enjoyed with it. Besides, we also took a pork burger in Macau, we felt that food in Macau is cheaper than Hong Kong, therefore we don't feel too pressure to eat in Macau.

On the way to "Da Shan Ba", we saw a special 7-eleven, there was a stall in front the shop and selling some local snacks, I couldn't stop myself to take a picture for it, we cannot see this scenery in Malaysia, can we?

Finally, we arrived to "Da Shan Ba", it actually is a wall of former church. The church was burned during war, but left the wall standed still there, this makes it famous, we saw a lot of tourists were visiting and taking pictures at the wall, SL said he felt kind of sad to see the only left wall (he is always this sentimental :P) . After this, we also went to musuem and bomber platform, haha... look like we visited a lot of place. Next,we walked around in a garden, it is bigger and more plants than Hong Kong's garden.

After that, we decided to walk all the way to Macau Harbour, actually it is not a long way.

Of course, we didn't miss the Golden Lotus Plaza, it is symbol of Macau, which is a gift from China when Macau ended its colonial period from Portugal.

We walked all the way to harbour, and it is a Fishermen Harbour near to it, it is a tourism hotspot too, which a lot of building mimid designed as some world's famous building, we took a lot of pictures here. Fishermen Harbour is our last point in Macau and we were backed to Hong Kong at evening time.

One day trip in Macau is ended and we were happy for the day, but we still felt that ferry ticket is slightly expensive, it costs us HK$138 each to go and HK$175 each for return, and that is HK$626 in total for the ferry ticket, it is about 2/3 of our expenses on the day.

After back to Hong Kong, we had our dinner in "Tang Chao", enjoying our delicious dinner and desert :)
