Rose Festivel 061310
Two weeks ago, it's Rose Festivel in Portland which las for about 3 weeks from May 22 to June 12, traditionally Windermere would present a history roses tour to people who love to celebrate the season of floral, honourly we were able to join them.
Actually, there was a Rose Festival Parade would line up in Portland town on June 12, but we just too tired to join the crowd for that as we had experienced it at a week before with Starlight Parade, the Portland town was just congested with a lot of people until we all found hard to move, therefore we chose June 13 for our tour and we chose a few locations from History Roses Tour list for sightseeing: Pioneer Courthouse Square, Peninsula Park and Pittock Mansion.
Every year when summer arrived, Pioneer Courthouse Square, the living room of Portland would be renovated with a lot of beautiful flowers, which made the Square looks different than what it was during other time, I pretty loved it.
Our next destination is Peninsula Park, we didn't visit there before and I thought there only is a building a few rose there, until we walked until the other side of park, there is another different view. Wow, I saw a lot of rose there with a fountain at the middle, there was so beautiful and it just like another rose garden as in Washington Park.
There we spent some time in Peninsula Park before we headed to Pittock Mansion with our cultural pass from library, it is a mansion built by Pittock family back to about a hundred years ago, we could see spetacular view of Portland from the view, the green field just made me wanted to lie down on the grass for some sunscreening.
There are a lot of rooms inside Pittock Mansion, that's why they call it as a mansion, it just like a mini size of a palace with a degree of reduction on their room quantity for fixed in a family only, breakfast room, dining room, kitchen, freezing room, storeroom, bed room, porch room, etc. It can be considered luxury for a family.
