Day 7 in Hong Kong (21/3/2008 Central)
Finally, we were abled to see this Golden Bauhinia fountain standing firm outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, this Golden Bauhinia was given from China after colony of UK ended at 1997, which is same meaning as Golden Lotus in Macau.
Also, we were abled to watch Flag Raising ceremony performed by four policemen, there were a lot of tourism gathered at the for the Flag Raising. Thankfully that we could record this moment with our viewcam.
After the ceremony, we walked around at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, but it was still early, so that we could find too much special things there, except some stalls were opened nearby.
After a while, our stomach complained and we decided to find a place to resolve our stomach issue around Wan Cai. Actually, we walked quite a lot to find an opened shop.
We went to Central as planned by tram after we had breakfast, that was a street that I insisted to visit, Bonham Strand West Street, becuase of influence from Hong Kong drama "Heart of Greed", however we couldn't find the shop which appeared in the drama, this made us a little dissapointed. Actually, Bonham Strand West Street is not the only street selling sea products and chinese medicine. Street of sea products and chinese medicine is combination of several streets, they are near to each.
Also, we found a small garden at Bonham Strand West Street, named as hundred of herb garden, which is memorial to a chinese ancient doctor, Shen Nong, we could see a lot of herb in the garden, well it was not as much as hundred, but it is much enough.
Of course, we didn't forget to take a look at Lan Kwai Fong, it is a soho area, but it is quiet during daytime, all shops were closed and we couldn't imagine how it's happening during the nighttime.
After we went through streets around Sheung Wan and Central, its time for us moved forward to the Peak, there is a famous museum, Madame Tussauds Musuem.
However, when we arrived to the Peak and came out from cable car, we only saw a building outside the cable car building, we were stunned there because of it jolted layout and our excited was cooling down after this. Well... this is Hong Kong.
After we took our lunch at Burger King, we stepped into the wax musuem, the first model after we entered to musuem is Jacky Chan, then immediately a cameraman took a picture for us, good service but he had blocked the way, therefore we certainly couldn't take personal picture with Jacky Chan model. Well... this good service costed HK$80 per picture, what? so expensive, we think this musuem has been commercialised.
Walking inside the wx musuem, we saw a lot of wax models (well... maybe it is not as much as you want to see :P) and we took a lot of pictures with those models (well... except Jacky Chan :(), some of models were prepared with some funny custom and accessories for us to have some funny photo taking.
We actually walked a lot in the musuem, we normal would visit a model twice, once with viewcam recording and once with photo taking. Well... we paid a lot at entrance, so that we needed to spend more time there :P
Probably, we walked too much in previous days, or because we woke up too early at the morning, or perhaps tired with commercial of Hong Kong, we were low of energy on this day, we lost our excited after noon.
After came out from musuem, we found there was a small path near to the Peak, it was for people who doing hinking, and there is prepared with some stops for visitor to relax.
Before we left the Peak, we went by souvenior shop, there is selling some wooden dolls, they are so cute, SL sudden said wanted to buy a pair for me to decorate my cubicle, I found actually he is a careful person :)
Due to tiredness, I backed left the Peak before sunset (we originally planned to see sunset at the Peak) and took some rest at a garden down to the Peak. After we restored some of energy, we decided back to hotel early on this day.
After dinner, we went to Weng Wah Confectionary to buy some cookies, as gift for our friends in Malaysia.
