Greater Victoria
Out of Victoria Downtown, there are still some interesting attractions, some are still accessable by foot, but some you still need a car, however distance would make you feel tired if you walk there. Three are two attractions near to Rockland area, Goverment House and Craigdarroch Castle, they both have stunning building and beautiful garden, which just like a huge mansion. Well, we were walking to these two locations, so that we were quite tired, then I kept taking pictures when SL was taking break at bench :)
The Government House is quite big to me and I like the garden as roses are blooming there. However Craigdarroch Castle wasn't as I expected though it still look like a castle in fairy tale, just it look too new to me.
On the last day of our trip, we chose to travel by car for saving parking fee in downtown and so that we can travel somewhere further in Victoria. At the morning, we headed to Hatley Park, which is Royal Roads University as well, there we could find a castle stands near to sea and according to our source told us that we could see Olypus Mountain over the sea though I didn't find it :P Anyways, this castle look more formal to me, the oldish building and big area with beautiful garden.
After visiting to Hatley Park, we decided to start our Marine Scenic Drive from Oak Bay to Fisherman Wharf, we stopped by several points when we found it was beautiful and the most special viewpoint is Ogden Point Breakwater, which is a long walkway on the sea to a lighthouse at the end of path, I felt kind of relaxing and romantic when walking on breakwater with SL.
We ended Marine Scenic Drive at Fisherman Wharf for our lunch break before we went back to US. At Victoria's Fisherman Wharf, we could find their houses are all floating on water, which is quite different with "Fisherman Wharf" that we visited in previous places, there was smaller but lovely. Well, we couldn't find much food stalls at Fisherman Wharf area, but there is a "Fish and Chip" and they claim that they are really famous until appear on China and Korea TV show. Anyways, we ordered our lunch there, their food are nice and their clam chowder is quite different with others because they got different ingredents than other clam chowder but with less clam in their soup, this made me didn't know how to rate them.
