Columbia River George

Image
Last Sunday April 18th, we planned for trip to Columbia River George for my parents-in-law, there is a must visit attraction when you travelled to Oregon, breathtaking scenery of Columbia River over Vista House and the fourth highest waterfall in US - Multnomah Fall on i-84 highway. First before our departure, we went to a Vietnamese restaurant (Pho Van) in Beaverton for our lunch, then we just headed to Vista House at Columbia George area, there we could oversee the River scenery from hilltop. Spring is arriving, so that we could see some people were picnicing nearby Vista House for the beautiful scenery. Also, I saw a group of motorists gathered in that area. After Vista House, we drove toward Multnomah Fall and stopped by Wahnakee Fall at the midway. Actually, this is not my first visit to Columbia River George and Multnomah Fall, I am happy that I have been there throughout three seasons until now, which are July 2009 (Summer), January 2010 (Winter) and April 2010 (Spring), that I

Early birds got the "bugs"

This morning, when I was going to office and turned on my laptop, then my laptop just suddenly informed that my laptop was going to shut down and reboot. Well, I thought this is normal because I got shut down message often when I got something installed into my computer. Well, though I didn't install anything this morning, I still didn't suspect it. However, the rebooting thing didn't look normal because it kept rebooting my laptop once I get into Windows, I got my laptop rebooted for nth time, until I was too tired to type my password repetitively. Then, I just heard some chatting nearby my cube and found that is not only me faced this problem. Finally, I decided to give up on reboot routine and seeing for help and took some break. Later at 3pm, I just knew there is solution from our IT service and they were helping us in cafe. Wow, there was a lot of people in cafe for getting help ^O^ At night, SL is searching for some information on today incident, then we just know our

Wildlife Safari and Crater Lake Visit

Image
Crater Lake is the deepest lake in US, it was a volcanic lake for many years ago and now it forms a lake for tourism to appreciate its beautifulness. Last Weekend was good weather and we planned for visiting Crater Lake at south of Oregon with about 5 hours driving time to the West Entrance. Due to early spring after winter, North Entrance is still closed by snow blocking, else we would save more time on driving to enter the National Park from North Entrance. Before we went to Crater Lake, we first visited to a Wildlife Safari which just near to Crater Lake, the entrance fee is USD17.99 each adult for two admissions in one day, while senior citizen would get USD3 off. In safari, we are not allowed to exit from vehicle and we need to stay in car and drive around 15mph, animals are free to walk around the safari area which is quite special when you can see ostriches, giraffes, bison, etc walked around and just nearby our car. However, those dangerous animals like tiger, lion, bear, etc a

Tulip Bulbs and Capitol

It's Woodburn Wooden Shoes Tulip Farm again, it was my second visit this year, first before the home trip and second after the home trip. Before home trip, the tulip festival is not opening yet, therefore we only saw half feild of tulip in the farm, also that was not much variety planted yet, but we got free parking and driving in the farm. After home trip, the festival was started about a week plus, there we need to pay 10 buck per vehicle for parking in the farm, but it is still worth as we could see a lot more tulip blossom in farm, their shape just like bulbs, beautiful and colourful. Flowers are attractive and a whole feild of tulips are even attractive, we spent about three hours in Wooden Shoes for walking along the pathway and among different species of tulips, of course we also took a lot of pictures there to mark down a memory for us. What made me happy is SL offered me a bunch of tulips because he know it is my favourite flower, but we didn't buy it finally though it

Home, Spring, Autumn ~~ 家、春、秋

When I was young, I read a series story from China author, it is combined with three books as so called Home, Spring and Autumn, it is about some youngsters at old time in China, they lived in a big family and they can't make decision for their future because everything is decided by elder in home, so that some of brave youngsters were running away from home to pursue their love and dream. When I was reading it, I was always wanted to make decision for myself, I wanted to choose my career, my dream, my love and my own path, therefore my living style is a little independent and always acted as what I wanted to do. However, when I am growing up, I found that actually it is hard to be living in my own style so much because our life actually is quite depended with other people, that we don't really can make every decision as we like. Today, my youngest sister is flying from Malaysia to US to meet with her husband now, always I thought she is a person without bravery and depended a

San Franciscon Trip

Image
April-8, SL and I finished our hometrip and travelled back to US, to make our flight ticket more valuable, we decided to stop at San Francisco for two nights before headed back to Oregon, which we had the plan in two months ago with our rental car and hotel booking done. This trip can be considered as family trip because my parents-in-law are coming with us, they will stay with us for three weeks, I think this will make our live feel more lively because more people merrier, especially in this lonely place. We arrived to San Francisco at 11am, it took us about an hour to get through immigration, baggage claim, custom and rental car. For taking rental car in SFO, we need to get train to their rental car counter, anyways it is still considered convenient. After we got our car, we moved forward to our hotel for checked in, it is Francisco Bay Inn, I personally like this hotel because it is well equiped with microwave, coffee maker, fridge, hair dryer and everything, they even have iron in

back to work soon

After two weeks break, I am going to back to work tomorrow soon, holidays always finish sooner as I expected, I was feeling a little lazy to start working now :P (perhaps something unhappy demotivated me) Anyways, I need to forget what was unhappy previously and have a new start tomorrow. During last two weeks, I spent time in different area in Malaysia, from south to north, there was everywhere I had been, planning, visiting and "exercising". My first two day was in Muar, it was family day that we had more relaxation after long haul flight from US to Malaysia. Then, I spent another 2.5 days in my hometown, it was unexpected sudden shock from my mum, then my hometown trip suddenly became so adventure and busy, that I was not only visited my grandmum at cementary, but also helped my mum to settle some housing issue on her "sudden" investment, this case kept me busy for more than a week. Anyways, we couldn't stay longer in my hometown as we also needed to settle o

My HomeTrip

I am on my home trip to my home country now, which is a trip to allow us back to home country and spend time there to cure your homesick when you are relocated to another country on assignment. In total, I would say this is quite a busy hometrip to me, I would never thought that I am needed to do sure a lot of things, SL and I actually were spent a lot of time on traveling between several places, from Kuala Lumpur to Muar, then Kota Tinggi, again back to Kuala Lumpur and immediately to Penang and we will back to Muar again tomorrow and later we will be travel back on Thursday with my parents-in-law. Phew~~ a lot of travelling, planning and problem solving, which I thought we couldn't make it within this short period, but at least we make it until now. Anyway, I think we are lucky on timing for a lot of arrangements, everything is just looked like pre-planned for us, then waiting for us to settle within these two weeks. Well, it is tired but I like to keep busy, which made me felt m
