Saturday ~ Greek food, Tulip and Shopping

It's Saturday again, this is the last Saturday for us before our home trip, it will be a busy weekend for us because we need to do packing and shopping for gifts. Well, we spent most of our time at outside today and will stay at home at Sunday to do our packing.

Last time, we heard that is a Greek restaurant from a friend that made us interested to try, it's today. Mad Greek Deli is the nearest Greek restaurant (should be considered as cafe instead :P) in our area. As we read review online about this restaurent, it is kind of dirty, it is special of this restaurant to us that we could find their cushions are broken, which we assumed they purposely made it. The shop look old and disorganised, perhaps this is Greek style. Also, we could see a picture on wall, it is a scence of Greek. The restaurant reflects hope of every people, that we could see lottery ticket everywhere in the shop, everyone wish to be rich and put their hope on sudden luck on lottery.

We ordered Falavel Special and Souvlaki Special for our meal, they come with sandwich, Greek fries and salad in a plate. At first, I was expecting something special on their Greek fries as they insisted it is "Greek fries" but not French fries, then I just found out it is actually wedge, globalisation helps food from different countries go around the world now.

At first, we found their fries, salad and sandwich were really delicious once we tasted them, falavel is quite special to us, it is like some type of meatball. However, we found their dishes were quite salty when we had them until mid of meal, and we found thirsty for the day. Anyways, it is still nice to taste some different dishes here.

After taking our lunch in Mad Greek Deli, we just headed to Woodburn direction. Actually, our original plan was going to shop for some gifts for family and friends back to Malaysia, just we know there is a tulip farm around Woodburn area, then we decided to pay it a visit before our shopping trip. The farm is named as Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm, while wooden shoe is traditional shoe of Netherland.

The Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm will start their festivel on 25th of March and it will last for a month, we were there a week earlier than it, therefore that isn't too crowd in the farm but that isn't all tulip blossoming at this time as well, but we still able to see some early blossom tulips now, they are red tulip which ran first.

Among so many flowers, tulip is one of my loves, because it's beautiful and blossoming the most at April, which is my birthmonth. While I was walking among tulips in the farm, I felt I was so happy to see different colour of tulips. As I was travelling Amsterdam 5 years ago, I didn't have chance to appreciate tulips blossoming as it wasn't season then (I was travelling at winter), but I see them in Oregon now.

In here, I found that I don't really need to see sakura in Japan and I still can see tulip outside of Netherlands, because I see both of them in Oregon now and I still hope that I could see other blossoming.

After we were done our tour at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm with SL took a lot of pictures there, then we just went to Walmart and Woodburn Company Store for our gifts shopping. All after all, that was a nice trip for this weekend ~ food, flowers and shopping.
